Manchester City returned to the top of the premier League with a 6-1 thrashing of Southampton.

City who are the League’s defending champions have so far been outstanding in the 2018/19 season without losing a game.

Raheem Sterling got a brace and Argentine forward Sergio Aguero scored his 150th PL goal as Manchester City dominated all through the game.

Pep Guardiola’s men took an early lead in the sixth minute when So’ton’s Wesley Hoedt turned Leroy Sane’s low cross past his own goalkeeper.

Aguero made it 2-0 in the 12th minute with his landmark strike from Sterling’s cut back.

Midfield maestro David Silva drove into the top corner following good performances of the duo (Sane and Sterling).

So’ton’s Danny Ings netted for the visitors to make it 3-1 from the penalty spot.

He was fouled by Manchester City’s goalkeeper Ederson as Southampton hoped to consolidate on that goal.

Aguero raced down to give an assist as clinical Sterling put it past the So’ton goalkeeper.

The Argentine was still not done with his day’s routine of assist as he delivered another to Sane who superbly netted it.

Unbeaten Manchester City are now two points clear off rival Liverpool with 29 points from 11 matches.

Also, Southampton are now 16th on the Premier League standing with 7 points from eleven games.

Manchester City’s next game will be a Manchester derby against arch rival United on November 11, 2018.

So’ton will remain at home to welcome Watford who lost to Newcastle 1-0 at Saint James’ Park.
